BREAKING THE K.K.K. (The untold TRUE story of Dan vs. the Klan)
BACKGROUND FOR OUR STORY In 1915, the film Birth of a Nation created the 2nd generation of the Ku Klux Klan, the most powerful society in the world. White men from all walks of life joined by the thousands. Senators, judges, police chiefs & juries made up of Klan members allowed men to get away with murder.
On Easter Sunday, 1923, men of the Klan attacked a white man named Ralph Burleson. After beating & flaying him, they left him for dead, covered in tar and abandoned on the courthouse lawn.
Dan Moody, a young and eager District Attorney in the small town of Georgetown in central Texas took on the Ku Klux Klan and for the FIRST TIME in history – won.
BREAKING THE K.K.K. This short film is based on the actual court trials against the Klan, taking place in September, 1923.
Dan Moody, recently appointed as District Attorney by Texas Governor Neff was eager to prosecute the Klan, who he felt were gaining too much power and filling Texas with hate and corruption.
It is estimated that 1-in-6 white Protestant men were members of the Ku Klux Klan in Texas, with numbers growing nationwide by the MILLIONS.
Dan Moody's case against the Klan was the first to successfully prosecute Klan members for enacting "Klan Justice", helping lay the foundation for other courts across the nation to stop the rapid growth of the Klan, ending their progress towards electing a Klan member as President of the United States! THIS IS TRUE HISTORY - DON'T LET IT DISAPPEAR!
